About
Strata Studio designs digital platforms for artist opportunities and cultural programs.
The studio works with arts organizations, residencies, and cultural initiatives to build systems that publish opportunities, organize archives, and support long-term program infrastructure.
Many cultural programs rely on digital systems that are difficult to navigate, maintain, or scale. Strata Studio focuses on designing platforms that are clear, structured, and sustainable over time.
Approach
Strata Studio approaches digital work as infrastructure.
This includes:
- how opportunities are structured and published
- how artists discover and apply for programs
- how organizations manage documentation and archives
- how platforms evolve over time
Projects are designed with attention to both usability and long-term maintenance, ensuring that systems remain useful beyond initial launch.
Background
Strata Studio draws on experience in artist-run spaces, opportunity platforms, and contemporary art.
This includes work developing and maintaining platforms for artist opportunities, as well as organizing exhibitions and cultural programs.
The studio brings an understanding of both the artist perspective and the organizational needs of cultural institutions.
Founder
Strata Studio is founded by Susan Snipes, an artist and organizer based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Her work includes founding UNDERSTORY, an artist-run exhibition space, and NEO Art Opportunities, a platform for sharing opportunities with artists.
Strata Studio works with a limited number of organizations and projects each year.
